Routing Table Configuration failed

I have a few people running Vista who are receiving the message ""Routing Table Configuration failed. Try to reconnect" every time they try to connect to the Connectra using SNX. This doesn't seem to be account related but machine specific. I've been unable to determine what these machines have in common other than they are running Vista. Other users such as myself are running Vista and connect to the Connectra without issue.

Has anyone else come across this error before? Does anyone have any idea how to solve it? These people need to use the Connectra but short of rebuilding their machines it just isn't possible.

I'm running Connectra R62 HFA01, These Vista machines are members of the domain and have UAC disabled.

Running the command "netsh winsock reset" and rebooting seems to have fixed the problem. I hope this helps someone else in the future.

Hello,

Jeremy, thank you for your try but it didn`t work to me. I don`t know if this issue occurs around an endpoint protection solution installed on the machine or some tcp/ip stack program installed, like SecureClient or other VPN clients which attach themselves to tcp stack. The machines that it is working has any kind of a software attached on tcp stack?

Check Point...what is your position?! Why does it happen?

I had the same problem. I disabled UAC, uninstalled the sslextender software in add/remove programs, manually removed the cpextender server witch sc.exe on the commandline, removed all checkpoint ssl extender related registrykeys and installed everything (UAC still disabled) again and now it works.

Hey Guys,

I am getting this also. I have done everything in this thread to no avail and eventually I just had to use another computer. Is there any way to fix this?
Can Checkpoint respond to this issue???

Thanks,

Stephane Touya

I too also have a few machines that get this. There is no rhyme or reason I can figure out as to why this happens or what these machines have in common.

For company owned machines we usually end up rebuilding them. I've been lucky in that the few home users that get this error I can simply state that I can't support their home machines.

I posted about this a while back and got no real answer. Checkpoint obviously has NO position on this but to ignore.

Hi

We are aware of this problem and are working on solution for that.
If you encounter the problem, we suggest taking one or more of the following actions:
1. Removing and re-installing SNX
2. Restart SNX service (from Control Panel -> Administrative Tools -> services)
3. Reboot your machine

On most cases we know of, one of these actions solves the problem.

We're very sorry for the inconvenience.

Orit.

Hi Orit,

Is there any ETA on the fix? It sometimes takes hours of tinkering before we get a remote user working. It's costing us a lot of time and hence - money.

Please let me know.

Hello,

got the same problem with diferent Vista machines.
Because it is not always possible that the users resart processes on the machines that they are using at that time.

Is Checkpoint working on the problem ( i.e. modifyed snx applet ) or do I have to open a support request for that issue ?

Best Regards

In our case, we tried the options mentioned by Orit without sucess.
We found the solution in uninstalling Google Toolbars and Desktop.

Afterwards, the client was running without problems in Win Vista.

Hope this can help someone else out there.

Ciao!

Hello,

I've got a hotfix for this routing table problem via my Checkpoint distributor, who opened a call. They told me that it will be part of the next HFA.
The word "Mustang" was part of the filename.
Is this an official hotfix for this?

best regards
